How to choose the most suitable rust-proof paper for your product
1. To prevent metal products from rusting, it is necessary to choose the right anti-rust paper, considering its types, metal materials, usage scenarios and other factors.
2. There are four main types of anti-rust paper: Oil-based anti-rust paper provides protection through an oil film, suitable for long-term storage and transportation of large mechanical parts, but may require degreasing after use; VCI vapor phase anti-rust paper contains volatile corrosion inhibitors, ideal for precision parts without oil residue; Corrugated wire-reinforced anti-rust paper has high strength and tear resistance, suitable for heavy equipment in harsh environments; Specialized vapor phase anti-rust paper is designed for multi-metal, copper and specific steel materials with strong adaptability.
3. When selecting, first consider the metal material: For steel, steel-specific, oil-based or VCI vapor phase anti-rust paper can be chosen; For copper and its alloys, copper-specific or multi-metal anti-rust paper is preferred; For aluminum and its alloys, multi-metal or specialized anti-rust paper is optional. Then consider the scenario: VCI vapor phase anti-rust paper is suitable for long-distance shipping; Oil-based or ordinary VCI anti-rust paper can be used for short-term dry storage; Corrugated wire-reinforced anti-rust paper is suitable for temporary outdoor stacking.
4. In terms of anti-rust duration, ordinary VCI is used for short-term, better-performing VCI or oil-based for medium-term, and high-end VCI for long-term. Precision parts and high-gloss products should use VCI or corrugated wire-reinforced anti-rust paper, while ordinary products can choose low-cost ones.
5. Notes: Choose reliable products and check test reports; follow instructions, such as sealing VCI; store in a dry and cool place and regularly check the packaging.
